Vermont and New Hampshire    June 2017

Vermont was really wet. There was a lot of rain and the trail was wet and messy. We were glad to cross into New Hampshire. I enjoyed going home for a long weekend for our nephew Joe's wedding. He and Ally were married in Rhode Island and the rain continued there as well. But it was a great time! Charlie and his family were up from GA and it was fun to be with Drew, Chris, Charlie and their families for the wedding and for father' day. Betty picked us up in Benninton and Butch came home with me. I put him on a plane home to GA so he could be with his family for the birth of their first grandchild, a baby boy, Cohen. I hope he will meet up with us again in VA when we head south.  Betty drove me back to Shrewsbury, VT where I met up with Ragnar, Mix, and Jimmy to hike on. We hope to meet up with my brother, Mike, in NH. He will pick us up so we can slack pack for a few days, then spend July 4th with him and his family.

New Hampshire, the 9th state

Sometimes the trail is really easy, in the middle of civilization.

Sometimes the views are incredible.

Sometimes the trail is just easy and peaceful.
Woodstock, VT

Sometimes the trail is more difficult as Mix climbs to the top of Killington.

Coming down isn't always so easy either as Ragnar descends Killington.
