Rain Gear

4.8.18

Thoughts from the Trail by Charlie Weaver

"Always have your rain gear on top, you never know when you'll need it. And every time you put it on, it will stop raining."  - Pocket

(Me: There's a lot to be said to this, rain gear is your protection against not only hypothermia, but also keeps you mostly dry and very warm.)

As a follow up, "Nothing is waterproof."

(Me: It's an interesting concept. We try to prepare for rain in life, put our rain gear on, and protect ourselves from the storm. But in the end, we are still vulnerable. The only way to stay dry, is to not go out in the rain, but that's where the beauty is. Choosing to stay dry limits you, holds you back. Sure, being dry and warm is nice, but you can't experience life's trail without walking in the rain.

"You just have to hike in the rain." -Pocket
